Jennifer Diaz Earns LEED AP Accreditation
RTP, N.C. – June 11, 2009 –EcoEngineering, a division of The John R. McAdams Company, announced today that Jennifer Diaz, PE, recently attained her Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) AP accreditation through the U.S. Green Building Council.
Diaz is a project manager within the division and is responsible for engineering design for stormwater best management practices, stormwater harvesting systems, low impact development and coordination between clients and review agencies. Her accreditation indicates a dedication to the environment and to the conservation of our limited natural resources.
The McAdams Company has long been an advocate for promoting and facilitating sustainable development practices. With the creation of EcoEngineering in April 2008, The McAdams Company expanded that mission. EcoEngineering provides comprehensive environmental and stormwater services including stormwater engineering, wetland delineation and permitting, dams, and stream and wetland restoration.
“As our communities grow, development is inevitable. Minimizing the environmental impact caused by new development as well as existing development is EcoEngineering’s mission,” said Amos Clark, director of EcoEngineering. “Jennifer sought LEED AP accreditation in order to further the company’s mission as well as support her own commitment to protecting the environment through smart and responsible development practices.”
LEED AP candidates must have building industry knowledge as well as experience working with green building professionals from multiple disciplines. The LEED AP credential signifies an extraordinary depth of knowledge in green building practices and specialization in a particular field: commercial design and construction, commercial operations and maintenance, commercial interiors, residential design and construction, and neighborhood development.
