Jim Halley, PE Earns LEED Professional Accreditation

RTP, N.C. –March 5, 2009 –The John R. McAdams Company’s Jim Halley recently became a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) by passing the Green Building Certification Institute’s LEED Professional Accreditation exam.
The McAdams Company has long been an advocate for promoting and facilitating sustainable development practices. Halley’s accreditation furthers the company’s mission to continue exploring opportunities to earn LEED credits for its projects from site selection through the completion of a project.
Halley serves as a senior project manager in the EcoEngineering Division of The John R. McAdams Company. He is responsible for all aspects of project design related to watershed assessment and management, stormwater design, natural channel design, geographic information systems (GIS) and low impact development (LID).
“Jim has an extensive background with more than a decade of environmental services experience,” said Amos Clark, director of EcoEngineering. “His expertise in this field along with his LEED credentials is an asset for all our clients and their projects.”
LEED AP candidates must have building industry knowledge as well as experience working with green building professionals from multiple disciplines. The LEED AP credential signifies an extraordinary depth of knowledge in green building practices and specialization in a particular field: commercial design and construction, commercial operations and maintenance, commercial interiors, residential design and construction, and neighborhood development. Halley’s specialization is integrating stormwater management into the overall aesthetics, sustainability, and function of a project. His creative and innovative sustainable design approaches meet or exceed current rules while providing a cost savings.
