John McAdams Joins ACEC-NC Board

RTP, Charlotte and Wilmington, N.C. –August 18, 2008 –John McAdams, founder and president of The John R. McAdams Company, was recently named to the board of directors of the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina. McAdams will serve a two-year term.

The American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina (ACEC-NC) is a professional association of over 210 member firms in North Carolina, employing over 8,000 professional engineers, technicians and scientists. ACEC-NC is a member organization of the American Council of Engineering Companies in Washington D.C.

ACEC-NC works hard to promote the business interests of its members through legislative advocacy and by providing a variety of business sources,” said McAdams. “In order for the engineering industry of North Carolina to continue to thrive we need to work together. I’m honored to serve on the board and be part of that process.”

McAdams created The John R. McAdams Company in 1979 and built the company into a successful land development design and consulting firm with three North Carolina locations. The firm has had a hand in the success of some of the largest developments in the state including The Streets of Southpoint Mall, North Hills Mall redevelopment, North Hills East, Brier Creek Country Club, Landfall in Wilmington, The Club at Longview in Charlotte, Meadowmont in Chapel Hill and Renaissance Village in Durham.
