McAdams Company Pioneers E-Submittals in Cary

The John R. McAdams Company was selected in early 2007, as one of four consulting firms who do the majority of engineering and planning work in Cary, to assist the Town of Cary and its’ software developer to customize North Carolina’s first Electronic Plan Submittal and Review System.

Among the four firms, The McAdams Company, was the first to beta test the ‘true’ submittal with a current Mixed Use Sketch Plan. The McAdams company provided valuable feedback from this exercise that identified areas of improvements to the software, submittal forms, access capabilities and coordination issues. A representative from the Town recently met with several key individuals at McAdams office to discuss the initial submittal, changes that are being made to the program based on our firm’s suggestions and to request further input.

We will be continuing to work with Cary on the program, as our project, Cary ‘s first on-line project, winds it’s way through the approval process. Updates will be provided as we learn more.

We are proud to have been asked to participate in the development of this system with the Town of Cary as well as to strengthen and continue our long standing relationship with the Town and the Town staff.

McAdams Company is also in the early stages of working with the City of Raleigh as they are investigating e-submittals as well.
