RTP and Charlotte, N.C. –March 6, 2008 –The John R. McAdams Company announced today that two of its employees, Ron Frederick and Adam Foster have earned their Professional Land Surveyor license. Frederick serves as a project manager in the survey department at McAdams RTP location and Foster serves as an assistant survey project manager in the survey department at McAdams Charlotte regional office.
In order to obtain a Professional Surveyor license, a person must submit an application to the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors that documents and demonstrates the required education and experience. Additionally, a person must complete 16 hours of examinations from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying. The exams include the Fundamentals of Surveying and the Principles and Practice of Surveying.
The Fundamentals of Surveying written exam tests applicants on their knowledge of basic surveying principles. The Principles and Practice of Surveying exam tests the applicant’s academic knowledge as well as knowledge gained in surveying practice.
“Ron and Adam have demonstrated they have the academic knowledge and the survey experience needed to tackle any survey project we might have,” said John Pickens, Director of Survey for The John R. McAdams Company. “We are pleased that they have taken their education and training to the next level and earned their Professional Land Surveyor licenses.”
