77 Overlook Park - Office/Industrial - Charlotte, North Carolina
The commercial distribution center known as 77 Overlook Park is located in the University area of Charlotte on twenty one acres. Located along I-77, near W. T. Harris Boulevard, the first phase will consist of 260,000 sf of manufacturing and showroom floor area. The McAdams Company was brought on for boundary, topographical and staking surveys of the site, as well as site engineering tasks, design of a water quality pond and roadway improvement design. The most noteworthy feature of this project was the limited timeframe given for approval and construction. The McAdams team took the project through an expedited review process available from the City of Charlotte, allowing grading to begin within six months of the client beginning the project planning process.
This expeditious accomplishment will ensure delivery of the completed product as expected in the spring of 2008. The quick turnaround, along with the money saved through a variance for roadway improvements, allowed for a maximization of returns on the project.
