The Health Park at Wakefield - Office/Industrial - Raleigh, North Carolina
This site is in the heart of the rapidly growing North Raleigh and Wake Forest area, and is adjacent to the prestigious Wakefield Plantation planned development, home of the Triangle’s only Tournament Players Club golf community.
The McAdams Company was faced with the challenge of maximizing the site potential while contending with considerable topographic obstacles. The design team at McAdams was able to develop a plan that would accommodate the 50 feet of vertical relief on the site without sacrificing the site’s buildable potential, presentation or functionality. The final master plan incorporates high profile entrances with monument signage and creative adaptation of the site to accommodate the significant grade changes while maintaining minimum sloping in the critical parking areas for accessibility concerns. One way the McAdams Company accomplished this was to incorporate multilevel buildings with physician parking in a covered underground garage.
The first phase of The Health Park at Wakefield was completed in 2002 and continues to be a successful part of the mixed-use Wakefield development in North Raleigh.
